Privacy
Prototype notice, version 2026-10-20. The full policy follows.
What roam keeps, only if you tick Remember
- Your loops, including their line on the map. A loop's line shows where you started.
- When you started a ride and when you came back.
- How you said it was.
- Your last mode and duration.
- Your start point, only if you also choose to remember it.
If you sign in
- Your email address. roam uses it only to send you sign-in codes.
- If this phone kept loops before you signed in, they move into your account and the phone's own record is deleted. roam notes that the move happened: when, and how many loops, rides and choices moved.
What roam never keeps
A GPS trace. Ride mode follows you on the page and stores nothing about where you went.
Cookies
roam keeps your session in a cookie on this device. Without it roam cannot remember anything, and it is not used to track you. Some browsers delete it sooner than roam would; Safari can after 7 days without a visit. Loops kept on this phone only can then no longer be reached from it, so sign in if you want to keep them.
Where it is kept, and who handles it
In a Supabase database in the EU. Services that process data for roam: Supabase (storage, sign-in, and for now the sign-in emails), Anthropic (writing route descriptions; Anthropic does not train on this data), Hetzner (hosting, in the EU), Cloudflare (maps and files, and Turnstile, which checks that a sign-in comes from a person). Turnstile's use is covered by Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
How long
- A signed-in account and its loops: until you delete them.
- Loops kept on this phone only: until you delete them, or 12 months after roam last saw you ride, keep a loop or make a choice on this phone.
- A phone that kept no loops: 7 days.
- A sign-in code that was asked for and never used: 24 hours.
Your rights
From You → Your data you can download everything roam holds about you, stop remembering your start point, delete single loops, or delete everything. Deleting everything is also how you withdraw consent to remember loops: afterwards nothing is kept until you tick Remember again.
